I don't know what it is about Jared being home for the cold part of the year but I get so cozy, maybe too cozy. The laundry is left longer than usual, the kitchen table is rarely clear, and there are twice as many tea /coffee mugs scattered throughout our tiny house. I don't mind but it's like I can barely stay afloat when we're all here. I just want to hang out with my little tribe, who cares about the other stuff? When he is gone back to work in the warmer months though, boy do things change! I wake up early, make beds, try to have dinner ready at a reasonable time, work out, blog... It's almost like I have a game plan! Maybe you'd never know a lot of the time I am making up this whole "Mom" thing as we go! At least until Jared gets home and I realize there are different toys tossed about in the living room, different little boy clothes launched off by the bathroom door and different books that cover the bedroom floor. Different from yesterday that is. I already cleaned that stuff up, twice.
The thing is, they were tossed there by a certain two year old somebody frantically looking for his lizard book. Or maybe he was just browsing? I don't know. Bookshelves are the like the old Pinterests, maybe Onyx was just scrollin'. I gave him a break for the 50th time, he's two.
Jared went back to work in the beginning of March which means.... We made it gracefully through our first month just the three of us! Onyx is now officially potty trained, (and the crowd goes wild) hallelujah! I only cried once! Haha. Potty training is SO hard on everyone involved but that kid is a champ. Just look at that popcorn eating face, am I right? Speaking of, that was his first time making popcorn the good ol' fashion way. I turned a septic into a believer. It felt good. Now to continue on in the month of April hoping it will go just as smoothly as March! Woo-hoo! ... And we bought more popcorn for the ride.
Thankfully,
Kaleidoscope Bear.
